The Learn and Lead Mindset

The idea behind the Learn and Lead Framework is to provide just a right amount of structure to chart direction and just enough flexibility to allow adaptability to multiple scenarios and situations. You can see here how even beginning teachers can use it to dip their toes into the leadership pool, but this is just one example. The universality of Learn and Lead Framework hinges on two simple ideas. The first is that anyone could be a leader, with the only requirement being adopting specific mindset,

"All endeavors aimed at developing people, progressing knowledge and improving the world should have at their core relentless pursuit of justice, liberty and happiness. Those who aspire to make a difference, even if their current job description does not reflect it, are by the virtue of subscribing to this mindset, considered to be leaders."

Second, perhaps even more important is that way too often we put our efforts in, for a lack of a better word, in the wrong order. For example, we take leadership steps before learning precisely what is needed, we attempt to support before charting the vision, or attempt to inspire people before clarifying our intentions. Sticking to the specific order of leadership "stuff", 1. Learn, 2. Lead, 3. Inspire and 4. Support is not a proverbial silver bullet, nevertheless puts us in the right order to accomplish greatness not just at work but in other endeavors, including our interpersonal dynamics. Rushing to judgement, myopic thinking, conjectures and bad decision making, can all be greatly diminished when we adopt the paradigm shift embedded in the Learn and Lead Framework.
